15 October 2008: vegan "meat"balls
I love making tomato sauce. Fresh (or home-canned) tomatoes, sweet bell pepper, garlic or onions, fresh oregano. This time, I added home-made vegan "meat"balls: wheat gluten mixed with spices and an egg and some water, rolled into balls and boiled in the sauce until done. Tomato sauce pairs extremely well with wheat berry. In the background are steam beet greens.
